Improved Sleep

Floating in the pod creates a deeply relaxed state; many floaters exit the pod feeling like they got a full night's rest.  Being in this relaxed state brings your body back into balance, improving your nightly sleeping patterns. The high amount of magnesium in the water (from the epsom salt) decreases cortisol levels: the stress hormone that can keep you up at night.

Improved Outlook on Life

Floating has been shown to improve mood by increasing feel-good endorphins, and decreasing stress hormones.  The break away from the heightened sensory world results in a reset of your senses; they seem brighter upon exiting the pod. Regular floating may also help with symptoms of depression, PTSD, and anxiety.

Stress Relief

Most of us have become too accustomed to operating through stress, with little time for relaxation.  This creates an imbalance in our lives, and floating is a great way to experience instant stress relief, while lowering blood pressure and cortisol levels.  There are numerous benefits of regular relaxation, and floating is one of the quickest, most effortless ways to experience it. Why is relaxation so important?

Pain Relief

While you are floating, gravity affects the body less than normal, and this creates less pull on muscles and joints, allowing them to deeply relax.  The high amount of magnesium in the water (from the epsom salt) gets absorbed through the skin, and reduces inflammation and pain.  Magnesium is a vital mineral that many of us are deficient in, and soaking in it is one of the best ways to increase it.  The relaxation experienced while floating releases endorphins, temporarily quieting pain signals.  Floating may help symptoms of arthritis pain, fibromyalgia, tension headaches, chronic pain and stress-related autoimmune disease.

Enhanced Creativity

Many floaters use their time in the pod to seek out creative answers, refresh their mind, and work through blocks. There is something about completely letting go while floating that makes you receptive to fresh ideas from new angles.  As any creator/artist knows: the more you let go, the more ideas flow.

Meditation

Floating brings you into the present moment by stripping away external stimuli, making meditation feel effortless. The reduced sensory environment of the float pod increases theta brain waves, which are the brain waves experienced right before falling asleep. They are also associated with deep states of meditation.  Floating is one of the quickest ways to access these states; many meditators take years of practice to access them.

Athletic Enhancement

Float pods are the perfect environment, free from distractions to use imagery to enhance your athletic performance.   Floating assists quicker recovery from training and over-use injuries due to increased circulation, muscle relaxation, and magnesium absorption. Many athletes use float therapy to enhance their performance (some teams even have their own float pods), such as: players of the Golden State Warriors, The New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys.
